Last Day in San Francisco

We had finally reached our ominous last day in San Francisco. Without any firm plans, the city was there for us to explore. We even witnessed something shocking and unexpected. Can you guess what that could be?

Cable Car Ride

We took a cable car ride! Cliche but you can’t really leave San Francisco without doing this. It was a fun way to get some fresh air and take in the heart of the city. Luckily it wasn’t overcrowded yet because we aren’t fond of becoming sardines. It was a memorable part of our trip and we enjoyed documenting our ride, maybe too much.

Ghiradelli Square

We had to stop by Ghiradelli chocolate shop to see what all the hype was about. It was another one of those touristy must do’s to check off our list. The shop was located in the remnants of the old Ghiradelli chocolate factory which is now home to many shops and restaurants. It was a short walk from Fisherman’s Wharf, so it was hard to miss. Any idea what we did there?  Nom nom nom.

Painted Ladies

The Painted Ladies were uniquely San Francisco. They were situated near Alamo Square Park where we enjoyed the view off the street, and pretended to sleep.

Golden Gate Park

Our stop at Golden Gate park was a relaxing part of our trip. We didn’t quite realize how long it was from end to end, but we eventually made it to the beach. Our first stop was Stow Lake.

We continued through the park and then this happened!

The fire was being managed well, and no one appeared to be hurt. We continued on to the beach as planned to get away from the smoke.

Twin Peaks

This was a great place to get high in San Francisco. Not the high you are thinking of, young padwan. The kind of high that gets you an incredible view of the city.

Lombard Street

This iconic brick road with 8 hairpin turns was a must on our list. We wouldn’t dream of driving it since the traffic going down it was ridiculous. Parking nearby, we walked down and got some pictures.

This day was the finale of the San Francisco portion of our road trip. The next day we had set out to our last major stop, Crater Lake.
