This trip to San Francisco was one of our first real road trips. There were many stops along the way that each have their own story. The beauty of driving is that you can see so much more than you do when you simply hop a plane. If you have the time, taking in the details along the way makes the trip special. It is all about the journey, not just the destination.
Nature has a silly sense of humor, and the weather dutifully plays the part of the bad-influence best friend splendidly. As showcased in our video of Crater Lake last week, we saw this stunning location shrouded in a blustery snow storm only to have it blossom into a spectacular blue-sky day with perfect puffy white clouds.
One would never guess these two scenes were less than 24 hours apart.
We tried to get some pictures of Crater Lake on our first night there. It didn’t work out so well as the snow rolled in. It was cold and very windy. You never truly know what to expect when you attempt to photograph a sunset, but that is part of the adventure, right?
