What is the most colorful landmark you have visited?
Sintra was one of our favorite places to visit in Portugal. There we found Pena Palace, where we were blown away with the colors of this magical place. We only had a day to visit but made the most of it. This is a must-see if you end up in Lisbon. Could you imagine living here?
When we aren’t otherwise chasing beautiful landscapes or diving into the local history, we love love love ruins. Just the way nature starts reclaiming what man once built, that beautiful decay. Picturing how it all looked long ago, what each room was used for. If walls could speak, right?
In case you didn’t know already, I am a real sucker for ruins! I love the decay of what once was and imagining what it might have looked like in its prime. I love exploring the crumbling walls and admiring how nature is slowly reclaiming what is hers.
The town of Heidelberg is magical with its historic old town. With a hilltop castle and views along the Nekar river, we were completely blown away. There is something special about this place that made us feel like we were in a fairytale. The cobblestone streets and medieval architecture were a pleasant view into old Germany. It is a wonderful place for a romantic holiday and the perfect fairytale town.
